Explanation:

Urban space? Public space? What do we know? Junk-space, nothing more and nothing less. Urban Parks are normally nothing more than junkspace. An open green located on left space. A field of grass, maybe there is a monument or a spring, some trees, surrounded by highrising city-towers. This is a common park, but what is the area outside the city? Isn´t it the greatest park of all. Nature, pure and rough.

An urban park, which is ment to be a place for recreation and rest, a fountain of silence and a reign of individuality, placed in the heart of a city, still should be an active part of the city. Urban life itself has a heavy expression, a steady-motion-snapshot, a self-fulfilling-prophecy and a certain will to exist. There is is life in itself. Dreams and hopes of thousands. Changing every minute. This kind of place has a thirst to swallow all of this. It is really thirsty and it swallows like starving men crave for water.

It seems to be obsolete to establish groundfloor-greens inside the city-walls. A city should rise up to the sky. It shouldn´t waste the land around. Cities have to grow, no doubt, but in which direction is up to us. Mind the sprawl. Can we apreciate the piracy of land lightheartened? I daresay NO.

This idea is a statement for the future-city. There is not enough space for all of us to waste it with public parks, which are merely empty hollows of unused space. Junk-space.

Elevating the park to an appropriate hight and arranging certain facillities of public need beneath it multiplies the space needed for this kind of open green without wasting precious urban ground. In case of a civic plaza ment for recreation and off-work-time there has to be something like a coffee-store, a book- and paper-store, a restaurant, maybe a museum or exhibition-and workarea for artists and those who want to be one, a theatre or event-place and so on. This list could be endless. Examples and suggestions might differ, but in the end it will come out to an equal kind of structure.
